* archs38: drop targetRobert Marko2025-06-05
| | | | | | | | | | | archs38 has been on life support for the last couple of releases,eventually leading to marking it as source-only in 2023. It has been basically only touched to do a kernel bump so that we can make the new OpenWrt release. * kernel: filter out compiler opts from configRosen Penev2024-11-17
| | | | | | | | | These get dynamically set based on compiler version. Not relevant for targets. Signed-off-by: Rosen Penev <rosenp@gmail.com> Link: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/16770 Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* kernel: activate *_FS_SECURITY and *_FS_ACL_ATTR options for all big flash ↵Leo Barsky2024-09-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | targets This patch activate *_FS_SECURITY and *_FS_ACL_ATTR options for all big flash memory targets. Fixes docker error: "failed to register layer: lsetxattr security.capability /usr/bin/ping: operation not supported" Forum discussion: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/docker-pull-fails-failed-to-register-layer-operation-not-supported/138253 Signed-off-by: Leo Barsky <leobrsky@proton.me> Link: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/16181 Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>

* kernel/archs38: Restore kernel files for v6.1Mieczyslaw Nalewaj2024-07-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This is an automatically generated commit which aids following Kernel patch history, as git will see the move and copy as a rename thus defeating the purpose. * kernel/archs38: Create kernel files for v6.1 (from v5.15)Robert Marko2024-03-17
| | | | | | | | This is an automatically generated commit. During a `git bisect` session, `git bisect --skip` is needed recommended. Signed-off-by: Robert Marko <robimarko@gmail.com>
* treewide: remove files for building 5.10 kernelNick Hainke2023-05-12
| | | | | | | | | | | All targets are bumped to 5.15. Remove the old 5.10 patches, configs and files using: find target/linux -iname '*-5.10' -exec rm -r {} \; Further, remove the 5.10 include. Signed-off-by: Nick Hainke <vincent@systemli.org>
* kernel: Activate CONFIG_HARDENED_USERCOPY for all targetsHauke Mehrtens2023-04-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This activates CONFIG_HARDENED_USERCOPY for the remaining targets. This adds additional checks in the copy_from_user() and copy_to_user() functions. This was not activated for ARCHS38 before because of a bug in the Linux kernel 5.4 till 5.14, which as fixed and is described here: https://github.com/foss-for-synopsys-dwc-arc-processors/linux/issues/15 I do not know why this was deactivated for mt7629 and rockchip. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* treewide: replace wpad-basic-wolfssl defaultRosen Penev2023-02-04
| | | | | | | The newly merged mbedtls backend is smaller and has fewer ABI related issues than the wolfSSL one. Signed-off-by: Rosen Penev <rosenp@gmail.com>
* archs38: switch to 5.15 by defaultNick Hainke2023-01-16
| | | | | | | | | It appears that only a few users are using the archs38 SoC. The most active user of the target has already approved the testing kernel and so it is very unlikely bugs will be reported in the near future. Therefore, the target should be directly bumped to 5.15. Signed-off-by: Nick Hainke <vincent@systemli.org>
* archs38: mark as source-onlyRobert Marko2023-01-16
| | | | | | | | | | | archs38 seems to be pretty much unused, usually only treewide changes or kernel bumps in order to branch off new stable are done to it. Considering that target only support some Synopsis HS38 ARC reference boards and no consumer hardware so mark the target as source-only to stop using Buildbot resources on building the target and packages for it. Signed-off-by: Robert Marko <robimarko@gmail.com>
* archs38: enable 5.15 testing kernelNick Hainke2023-01-13
| | | | | | | Add 5.15 as testing kernel. Tested-by: Evgeniy Didin <didin@synopsys.com> Signed-off-by: Nick Hainke <vincent@systemli.org>
* archs38: 5.15: copy config from 5.10Nick Hainke2023-01-13
| | | | | | Copy config from 5.10 to 5.15. Signed-off-by: Nick Hainke <vincent@systemli.org>
* kernel: remove target specific CONFIG_IKCONFIG linesFelix Fietkau2022-10-14
| | | | | | Use generic configuration for this feature Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
* kernel: Activate CONFIG_GPIOLIB in generic configurationHauke Mehrtens2022-08-10
| | | | | | | | All targets expect the malta target already activate the CONFIG_GPIOLIB option. Move it to generic kernel configuration and also activate it for malta. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* generic: enable CRYPTO_LIB_BLAKE2S[_X86|_ARM]Tomasz Maciej Nowak2022-06-24
| | | | | | | | | | | | This is now built-in, enable so it won't propagate on target configs. Link: https://lkml.org/lkml/2022/1/3/168 Fixes: 79e7a2552e89 ("kernel: bump 5.15 to 5.15.44") Fixes: 0ca93670693b ("kernel: bump 5.10 to 5.10.119") Signed-off-by: Tomasz Maciej Nowak <tmn505@gmail.com> (Link to Kernel's commit taht made it built-in, CRYPTO_LIB_BLAKE2S[_ARM|_X86] as it's selectable, 5.10 backport) Signed-off-by: Christian Lamparter <chunkeey@gmail.com>
* kernel: delete Linux 5.4 config and patchesDaniel Golle2022-03-21
| | | | | | | | As the upcoming release will be based on Linux 5.10 only, remove all kernel configuration as well as patches for Linux 5.4. There were no targets still actively using Linux 5.4. Signed-off-by: Daniel Golle <daniel@makrotopia.org>
* kernel: 5.10: remove CONFIG_DEVTMPFS{,_MOUNT} from kconfigsRui Salvaterra2022-03-01
| | | | | | They are required for container support, but are handled in Config-kernel.in. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* kernel: 5.10: consolidate mac80211 crypto optionsSergey Ryazanov2021-12-17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Each of - CRYPTO_AEAD2 - CRYPTO_AEAD - CRYPTO_GF128MUL - CRYPTO_GHASH - CRYPTO_HASH2 - CRYPTO_HASH - CRYPTO_MANAGER2 - CRYPTO_MANAGER - CRYPTO_NULL2 either directly required for mac80211 crypto support, or directly selected by such options. Support for the mac80211 crypto was enabled in the generic config since c7182123b9 ("kernel: make cryptoapi support needed by mac80211 built-in"). So move the above options from the target configs to the generic config to make it clear why do we need them. CC: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name> Signed-off-by: Sergey Ryazanov <ryazanov.s.a@gmail.com>
* archs38: update kernel version to 5.10Evgeniy Didin2021-11-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Update config, Makefile and image/Makefile. Directly switch to kernel 5.10. This patch was tested in nSIM simulator, no errors appeared. * kernel: Add missing kernel config optionsHauke Mehrtens2021-09-13
| | | | | | | These options are selectable when some of the kernel debug options like KERNEL_SOFTLOCKUP_DETECTOR are selected. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* kernel: move two symbols to the generic kconfigsRui Salvaterra2021-08-29
| | | | | | | CONFIG_RCU_{NEED_SEGCBLIST,STALL_COMMON} are set basically everywhere. Move them to the generic kconfigs. And resort the generic kconfigs while at it. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* archs38: Do not activate ext3 driver optionsHauke Mehrtens2021-08-21
| | | | | | | | The ext3 driver was already removed, the kernel config options are only there for backwards compatibility. The eth4 driver takes care of ext3 file systems. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* treewide: switch the timer frequency to 100 HzRui Salvaterra2021-04-21
| | | | | | | | Some targets select HZ=100, others HZ=250. There's no reason to select a higher timer frequency (and 100 Hz are available in every architecture), so change all targets to 100 Hz. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* archs38: set device vendor and model variablesMoritz Warning2021-04-17
| | | | | | This fixes the profiles.json output. Signed-off-by: Moritz Warning <moritzwarning@web.de>
* archs38: Add CONFIG_HZ=100Hauke Mehrtens2021-03-19
| | | | | | | This kernel config option was missing and resulted in a question when building. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* treewide: remove execute bit and shebang from board.d filesAdrian Schmutzler2021-03-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So far, board.d files were having execute bit set and contained a shebang. However, they are just sourced in board_detect, with an apparantly unnecessary check for execute permission beforehand. Replace this check by one for existance and make the board.d files "normal" files, as would be expected in /etc anyway. Note: This removes an apparantly unused '#!/bin/sh /etc/rc.common' in target/linux/bcm47xx/base-files/etc/board.d/01_network Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* target: use SPDX license identifiers on scriptsAdrian Schmutzler2021-02-10

* config: limit CONFIG_PERF_EVENTS to top-level generic configsTony Ambardar2021-01-25
| | | | | | Remove redundant target-level settings. Signed-off-by: Tony Ambardar <itugrok@yahoo.com>
* treewide: use wpad-basic-wolfssl as defaultPetr Štetiar2020-08-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to support SAE/WPA3-Personal in default images. Replace almost all occurencies of wpad-basic and wpad-mini with wpad-basic-wolfssl for consistency. Keep out ar71xx from the list as it won't be in the next release and would only make backports harder. Build-tested (build-bot settings): ath79: generic, ramips: mt7620/mt76x8/rt305x, lantiq: xrx200/xway, sunxi: a53 Signed-off-by: Petr Štetiar <ynezz@true.cz> [rebase, extend commit message] Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* kernel: unify CONFIG_GPIO_SYSFS in kernel configsFelix Fietkau2020-08-06
| | | | | | Enable it for all platforms Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
* archs38: use generic 02_sysinfoAdrian Schmutzler2020-07-22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently archs38 sets a board name from compatible for no apparent reason. Just use the compatible directly instead. This theoretically removes a board name "generic" when no compatible was present, however, there is no case where this "generic" board name was actually used. This also fixes an issue where snps,axs103 would not have been properly detected anyway, as its case was not set up syntactically correct. Fixes: 73015c4cb378 ("linux: add support of Synopsys ARCHS38-based boards") Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* treewide: drop shebang from non-executable target filesAdrian Schmutzler2020-06-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This drops the shebang from all target files for /lib and /etc/uci-defaults folders, as these are sourced and the shebang is useless. While at it, fix the executable flag on a few of these files. This does not touch ar71xx, as this target is just used for backporting now and applying cosmetic changes would just complicate things. Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* treewide: provide consistent basic DEVICE_TYPEAdrian Schmutzler2020-06-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While the effective "default" based on frequent use is "router", the DEVICE_TYPE variable actually provides a "basic" configuration without selecting any additional packages. This is currently set up with the identifier "bootloader", which seems to be not used at all. However, the only targets not using "router" or "nas" are actually archs38 and arc770, which use their own value "developerboard" for DEVICE_TYPE which seems to have been invented when these targets where added. The latter is not implemented in target.mk, though, and will fall back to the "basic" set of packages then. So, to clean this up and make it more readable, let's just define a DEVICE_TYPE "basic" and use it for the aforementioned cases. * archs38: remove support for kernel 4.14Adrian Schmutzler2020-05-25
| | | | | | | | Kernel 5.4 is stable for about two months now and there is only one patch anyway, so this is mostly upstream stuff. Therefore, it does not look like we need to keep old 4.14 around any longer. Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>

* archs38: Add patch for gcc8 compilanceEvgeniy Didin2020-03-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | Building Linux kernel version 5.4.x with GCC8 ends up with internal compiler error. The workaround on this issue can be introdution of additional compiler option "--mmpy-option=2" Signed-off-by: Evgeniy Didin <Evgeniy.Didin@synopsys.com> Cc: Alexey Brodkin <abrodkin@synopsys.com> Cc: Petr Štetiar <ynezz@true.cz> Cc: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Cc: John Crispin <john@phrozen.org>

* treewide: remove maintainer variable from targetsPetr Štetiar2020-03-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | There is no such role as target maintainer anymore, one should always send corresponding changes for the review and anyone from the commiters is allowed to merge them or eventually use the hand break and NACK them. Lets make it clear, that it is solely a community doing the maintenance tasks.
